The project consists of carrying out activities for the socio-economic revitalisation of the Cono Sur area and its coastline, developing recreational, informative, cultural, sporting and educational activities, and giving priority to groups with a high degree of social vulnerability in the Cono Sur area.

Revamping and improvement of the area of La Puntilla beach, in San Cristóbal

This action aims to promote public recreational activities and nautical sports in the neighbourhood of San Cristóbal through the urban refurbishment and regeneration of the area surrounding La Puntilla beach. It will increase universal accessibility and connectivity with the seaside promenade, and promote and revitalise the Cono Sur coastline for the public with the help of sea-related sports and leisure activities.

Budget: €600,000.00

Rehabilitation of the retaining wall and the seaside promenade of San Cristóbal

This operation focuses on repairing the deterioration of the seaside promenade due to the harsh effects of the sea current and its waves. Moreover, the accesses to the neighbourhood beach will be rehabilitated to fix the structural damage caused by the sea.
The rehabilitation will consist of the construction of a clean, smooth concrete base. The rusty frame will be reconditioned and washed with fresh water. Then, anti-corrosion cement coating and repair mortar will be applied.

Budget: €1,320,000.00

Santiago Tejera square and the installation of a children’s play area

The project aims to improve the quality, functionality and attractiveness of a recreational area in the San Cristóbal neighbourhood. It will also provide new equipment and basic social and cultural facilities, promoting children’s play and leisure areas linked to its seafaring history.

Budget: €1,079,356.94

La Laja swimming pool and accesses (Aguas Azules)

The project aims to bring improvement systems to the bathing area of La Laja/San Cristóbal, to promote leisure and recreational spaces, as well as resources and services that balance out the offerings in the urban setting – in an area that has typically been neglected from this standpoint. 

Budget: €1,170,462.06
