The project consists of the development of activities for the socio-economic promotion and revitalisation of the city’s coastline, linked to the promotion of coastal tourism and local gastronomy, which, in turn, generate employment and wealth. It aims to strengthen the capital city’s positioning as a benchmark urban tourist destination and boost the city’s blue economy.
In short, the project intends to package and promote the offering of San Cristóbal as a destination based on three elements of interest: gastronomy, seafaring tradition and nautical activity.

The project contemplates the revamping of the outdoor spaces and the buildings of the former Carlos Navarro School located on Paseo de San José for its use by the Universidad Popular organisation. The University’s objectives are to contribute to personal development; promote sustainable development; encourage social integration; promote equal opportunities between men and women; promote access to and recreational use of information and communication technologies; expand and improve learning and intercultural coexistence and encourage participation for active citizenship and democratic development.
