TO4: Supporting the shift towards a low-carbon economy in all sectors
Line 5: ‘Sensorising’ public spaces to optimise consumption
The emerging need to improve the situation caused by the electricity generation costs and the emission of polluting gases, together with the city’s excellent weather conditions, have led the City Council to introduce a power management system for smart production and consumption based on the ‘sensorisation’ of a public space, the supply of renewable energy, and its efficient consumption, in the public car park located at Paseo Físico Blas Cabrera Felipe, in the Cono Sur area of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The power obtained will be used for the self-consumption of municipal facilities.
Budget: €466,665.00

This operation aims to install solar photovoltaic panels on the roofs of a selection of schools in the Cono Sur area of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, along with energy monitoring systems in each of them. This will favour both energy efficiency and effectiveness and spread awareness among the school community.
Likewise, dissemination actions will be carried out to significantly increase the operation’s impact and citizen participation by reaching the rest of the population of the municipality and the island.
Budget: €300,000.00
